Your simple online guide to breastfeeding & parenting

We believe breastfeeding & parenting info should be easy to find, easy to read and easy to share.

So we’ve done all the hard work for you and put the best resources together in one place.

We are backed by the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) with over 50 years of knowledge and expertise.

The ABA comes recommended by government, health experts, lactation consultants, doctors, midwives and hospitals.

You can be confident that the OBC has you covered when it comes to breastfeeding and parenting!

Super responsive site

The new-look Online Breastfeeding Cafe is now responsive across mobile, tablet and computer. The new easy-to read design loads quickly. We know that many people don’t like scrolling text, so we’ve kept everything above the fold where possible with easy to navigate picture boxes for headings. The home page is full of pics and icons to make your search even easier. We can even save you the hassle of navigating the menu: you can just glance through the home page on your mobile device and find exactly what you need.  If you’re so inclined, the fresh new drop down menu is simple and makes navigation a breeze.

Access to Language Resources

No matter what your language, the OBC is about accessibility and diversity. We have a just the thing for you, in a language you need. You can choose from a basic Breastfeeding Confidence e-flyer to a full colour booklet with English/Other Language side-by-side translations on How Breastfeeding Works. Now that’s comprehensive!

ABA logo tinyThe Online Breastfeeding Café is run by the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) NSW Branch. ABA is one of Australia’s largest volunteer women’s associations, and is a registered charity.

This project exists thanks to grants and funding NSW Health. The grant for the original version of the OBC came from the Ian Potter Foundation. We voluntarily abide by the World Health Organisation (WHO) code with regard to breastfeeding information. Our internationally-recognised expertise is a key source for governments and health professionals, as well as the thousands of families we help every year. We also abide by the Australian Breastfeeding Association’s Code of Ethics in all information we supply.

The idea for this web site was born in as a ‘different coloured door’ for people to receive help from the Australian Breastfeeding Association. NSW_healthWe wanted to build a community that was defined by new user groups, but which had the world-renowned expertise of the ABA at their fingertips. The Online Breastfeeding Café was born.
